Driftwood (mangrove wood) is a beautiful type of wood for aquariums. Thanks to its irregular character, you can create a unique underwater world. The branches/roots can optionally be covered with various moss species and epiphytes. In combination with aquarium stones, you create the most natural look.

Driftwood will initially float and release tannins that brown the water. This can be reduced by soaking the wood for a while first. Over time, the discolouration of the water will lessen, and you can then place it in the aquarium.
