Hakkai Stone – Unique hardscape for a natural aquascape

Bring the atmosphere of a natural riverbed to life with Hakkai Stone (also known as Pahai Stone). This rare, high-quality hardscape stone is known for its deep dark blue-green hue and striking eroded surface that resembles natural decay – as if time itself has gnawed at it.

Perfect for creating a realistic, harmonious aquascape in Iwagumi or natural style.

      Characteristics of Hakkai Stone

Color: Deep dark blue-green, with an even more intense appearance when submerged in water. These color variations contribute to a calm, authentic atmosphere in your aquarium.

Structure & Shape: Round, compact forms with unique grooves, holes, and smooth erosion marks create an organic, “insect-eaten” look – ideal for replicating a natural landscape.

Safe and stable: This stone is inert, meaning it does not release substances into the water and is therefore completely safe for fish, plants, and shrimp.

Furthermore, Hakkai stone is heavy and dense, ensuring it stays firmly in place, even with larger compositions.

      Applications in aquascaping

      • Iwagumi-style aquascapes – where stone structures are central.
      • Riverbed layouts – thanks to the rounded shapes and natural grooves.
      • Natural underwater landscapes – in combination with plants, wood, and sand.
