Driftwood (Mangrove wood) is a beautiful type of wood for aquariums. Its whimsical character allows you to create a unique underwater world. The branches/roots can be adorned with various types of moss and epiphytes.

Combined with aquarium stones, you can create the most natural look. Driftwood will initially float and release tannins, which will color the water brown. This can be reduced by soaking the wood for a while first.

Over time, the discoloration of the water will lessen, and you can then place it in the aquarium.
